Content I state the author’s thesis of the video in the first paragraph. Following I talk about two suggestions about how to protect students’ privacies efficiently in the second and third paragraphs. Finally, combined with the author’s claim, I summarize my main points and express the future hope on issue of teenagers’ privacies.
Nonverbal Behavior It is the last time for me to record my own speech. With the experience I learned in listening and speaking class this semester, I think that I can express my emotion freely in my speech. Although I still need to practice more to enhance my nonverbal behavior, I have already accumulated the confidence through the own-recorded speech.
Grammar, Pronunciation, Voice,& Pace In this speech, I notice difficulties to pronounce some particular words with correct stress, such as “appropriate”, “surveillance”, “inevitable”. Also, I find that I missed a few syllables and sounds. My voice and pace are ok. In the future speech, I need to lists all the unfamiliar words, practice their pronunciations and put them into memory.
Thought groups and Intonation I think that most of my thought groups are ok. But sometimes I mistaken to pause inside the sentence. For example, “there is no doubt that schools……….” Sometimes I will pause between “ there is no doubt” and “ that schools……..” . I need to be aware of this matter in my future speech. For most of the sentences, I can notice the issue of intonation, but sometimes I need to be careful when there are parallel words.
Goals for Future speech before I give the formal speech, I need to practice it and record my practicing speech. Then I will ask the advice from the native speaking friends to point out my problems for the pronunciation, stress, paces, intonation and thought group. Through this way, I am sure that I can make progress in my speaking ability step by step.
